Right whales are an endangered species and super rare (only ~370 left!). They have no dorsal fin, a cool V-shaped blow, and funky white calluses on their heads that scientists use like fingerprints. These gentle giants cruise the East Coast and Cape Cod Bay serves as a feeding and breeding ground for them. These whales gulp down over 2,200 pounds of copepods daily to fuel their massive bodies and maintain their thick layer of blubber!

When did Memorial Day become an official U.S. national holiday? |

Enjoy 9+ hours of nightfall as the Moon wanes to 47.6% visibility in a graceful crescent. Sunset hits at 8:01 PM, with nautical twilight wrapping up by 9:14 PM. Early risers, mark your calendars for May 23, when Venus, the Moon, and Saturn will align in a rare celestial trio just before sunrise.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! Enjoy the rest of your week.
