Plymouth Pod #39
This week in Plymouth County.
Hi All! Have a great week and see you out there!
Trail of the Week: Whiton Woods and Cedar Crest Conservation Area (Duxbury)
For a peaceful woodland walk steeped in local history, head to Whiton Woods and Cedar Crest Conservation Areas in North Duxbury. Together they offer 154 acres of open space with about 2.2 miles of trails winding past cranberry bogs, stone walls, wooden footbridges, and Harlow Brook Pond. The easy, well-marked loops (one through each property) showcase a mix of pine and oak forest, wetlands, and nesting turtle habitat.
You’ll find scenic views of the brook and pond, plus traces of early Duxbury settlers and Native American history in this tranquil landscape between the old Massachusetts and Wampanoag territories.
