Plymouth Pod #50

This week in Plymouth County.

Hi All! I hope everyone started 2026 in style. As we kick-off this new year, I want to thank each of you for being a part of the pod last year. Whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning or have recently joined, thank you for supporting this newsletter, it means so much to me.

I’m excited for this year and want to hear from you - I’ve included a pod member feedback form below - please share what you’ve liked and what you’d like to see more of. Thank you in advance for the feedback!

Trail of the Week: Cole Conservation Land (Carver)

Tucked away off Pleasant Street, Cole Conservation Land is a 242-acre woodland offering more than 3 miles of wide, well-marked trails through forest, wetlands, and cranberry bogs. Highlights include peaceful pond views and a standout suspension bridge on the orange loop. The main blue trail forms a gentle 2-mile loop, with additional white and orange loops adding variety and exploration options.

Once former agricultural land, the property was permanently protected in 2007 and still features volunteer-managed cranberry bogs. The land also holds deep historical significance—an ancient Native American trail once passed through this area, with nearby Annasnappet Pond serving as an important gathering place for the Pokanoket Wampanoag.

Expect mostly easy walking with a few short, steeper sections, occasional roots and rocks, and a mix of bridges and natural stream crossings. While Route 44 runs nearby (and can be heard), the trails themselves feel immersive and rewarding—especially in cooler weather. Plan your visit here.
