Plymouth Pod #67

A week for the moms

Happy Tuesday! I’m seeing all the signs of summer to come and I’m excited for a quintessential New England Summer which is easy to do when you live by the shore. Quick update, I’m finalizing the 3rd of July t-shirt design and I’m pumped to share it with you all soon. Alright, let’s get into it!

Tides & Tails

Pets: Hunter

Night Sky: The Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks before dawn this Wednesday, but a bright waning gibbous moon will wash out most of the show from our latitude. Early risers can still try low in the east between 3:30 and 5:00 am. The better bet this week is the planets: Venus is brilliant in the west just after sunset and Jupiter rides high in the evening sky, setting around 12:45 am.

Trail of the Week: Striar Conservancy (Halifax)

The Striar Conservancy follows the lower Winnetuxet River through mature woodlands, spring-fed streams, and floodplain habitat that supports up to 90 bird species, Wood Ducks, American Woodcocks, and Ruffed Grouse among them. River otters, deer, and fox roam the area, and the surrounding marshes hold one of the best warm-water fisheries in Southeastern Mass. Heads up: trails include narrow 16-inch bog boards, exposed roots, and seasonal flooding; wear sturdy shoes and stay on marked paths to protect vernal pools.
